The PMP® exam has been new since July 2026

PMI fundamentally modernized the PMP® certification as of July 9, 2026. The emphasis shifts toward the business environment and value creation. Our preparation is already fully aligned with the new version.

New ECO weighting of the exam domains

Since July 9, 2026, PMI has reweighted the three exam domains: “Business Environment” grows from 8% to 26% and thus becomes the third largest block of the exam.

In return, “People” falls from 42% to 33% and “Process” from 50% to 41%.

For your project managers this means that business benefit, compliance and value creation move to the center of the exam.

Your route to PMP® certification

1. Preparation training

at least 35 hours of in-person or live training as a PMI Authorized Training Partner

2. Knowledge test & feedback

A mandatory knowledge test and feedback form after the course, followed by the Certificate of Achievement (COA)

3. Exam registration

4. PMP® exam

180 questions, 240 minutes, online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test center

Entry requirements (PMI)

35 hours of formal PM education

Evidenced by the Certificate of Achievement from our course.

3 or 5 years of project experience

With a degree around 4,500 hours, without one around 7,500 hours. The experience has to have been gained within the last 10 years.

80 to 120 hours of self-study

Recommended, supported by the exam simulator and specialist literature.
